What do I do at Soul night? w/ Hannah & WillNever fear, you have all the tools you need. We'll work on some strategies for adapting the lindy hop we know and love to groove with soul and R&B music. We'll also draw inspiration from other dances (think Carolina Shag, DFW Swingout, West Coast Swing, etc.) and practice incorporating stylings from those forms onto familiar vocabulary.

"I think for Dean, dances that were lent from Balboa and done slowly were all considered Slow Bal. I try to keep Slow Bal as a token of the way he danced with his wife, Nancy."Hearing the Music Through Your Partner w/ Hannah & ScottWhat is it like to REALLY feel the music through your partner? No really, like, only one person can hear the music and they have to communicate what's going on through their movement alone? Not sure? Neither are we (just kidding, we've given it a try and we think it's pretty interesting)! In this class, we'll use the power of technology to go on this journey together, digging deep into what it means to really embody different musical styles and communicate them to our partner.REQUIREMENTS - Please bring a smartphone and earbuds.
